Brass Ball Valve – Quarter-Turn Screwed Valve, 1/8 to 4 Inch

محبس هواء نحاس

The Brass Ball Valve is a quarter-turn shut-off valve with a brass body and threaded (screwed) ends. A single 90° turn of the handle opens or closes the flow, which makes it one of the quickest and most practical isolation valves for plumbing and building services. Fanoos supplies the Brass Ball Valve in 11 sizes from 1/8 inch to 4 inch for contractors, maintenance teams and project owners across Jeddah and the wider Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Brass Ball Valve: Product Overview

Inside the valve body is a ball with a hole through its centre. When the handle is in line with the pipe, the hole lines up with the flow and the valve is open. Turning the handle a quarter turn rotates the ball so the solid side blocks the flow and the valve is closed. The handle position shows the valve state at a glance, so operators can see immediately whether a line is open or shut.

Brass is a popular body material for small and medium valves because it is strong, machinable and resistant to the corrosion found in normal water systems. Combined with threaded ends, it allows the valve to be installed directly on threaded pipe and fittings without welding or special tools.

Key Features of the Brass Ball Valve

  • Quarter-turn operation: fully open to fully closed with a 90° turn of the handle.
  • Brass body: durable and corrosion resistant in normal water service.
  • Screwed (threaded) ends: quick installation on threaded pipework.
  • Clear position indication: the handle shows whether the valve is open or closed.
  • Wide size range: 11 sizes from 1/8 inch to 4 inch, each with its own SKU.
  • Low maintenance: a simple design with few moving parts.

Available Sizes

The Brass Ball Valve is available in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 3 and 4 inch. Choose a size above to see its SKU, for example 70BAB.1 for the 1 inch valve.

Applications of the Brass Ball Valve

  • Isolation of water supply lines in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Shut-off points before fixtures, tanks, pumps and equipment
  • HVAC and chilled water connections
  • Irrigation and landscaping lines
  • Maintenance isolation points in plant rooms

For gas, steam, high-pressure or chemical service, confirm the valve’s rating and suitability with our team before ordering. Separate brass ball valves for gas and higher pressure classes are also available.

How to Install a Brass Ball Valve

  1. Check that the valve size and thread type match the pipe and fittings.
  2. Clean the pipe threads and remove any dirt or burrs.
  3. Apply a suitable thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads.
  4. Screw the valve on by hand, then tighten with a wrench on the hexagon end nearest the joint, never on the valve body or handle.
  5. Leave enough space around the handle so it can turn a full quarter turn.
  6. Pressure-test the line and check every joint for leaks before putting the system into service.

Choosing the Right Brass Ball Valve

Select the valve to match your pipe size, the working pressure and temperature of the system, and the fluid being carried. Pressure ratings, thread standards and dimensions vary between manufacturers, so confirm the exact values in the product datasheet before final design. Our team can recommend the right Brass Ball Valve for your project and share the available documentation on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Brass Ball Valve suitable for drinking water?

Many brass ball valves are used in potable water systems. If you need certified products for drinking water, ask our team for valves with the relevant approvals.

Can the valve be used to regulate flow?

Ball valves are designed mainly for full open or full closed service. For accurate flow control, a globe or regulating valve is usually a better choice.

Do you supply project quantities?

Yes. Send us your BOQ, quantities and delivery location, and we will reply with availability and a project-based quotation.
