PVC Tee Equal Class 5 – Solvent Weld Pressure Fitting

The PVC Tee Equal Class 5 is a solvent-weld pressure fitting that creates a 90° branch from a straight PVC pipe line, with all three ends the same size. It is joined to Class 5 PVC pipe of matching diameter using primer and solvent cement, forming a permanent, leak-tight connection. Fanoos supplies the PVC Tee Equal Class 5 in 19 sizes from 16 mm to 400 mm for contractors, consultants and project owners across Jeddah and the wider Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Why Choose the PVC Tee Equal Class 5?

An equal tee is one of the most common fittings in any pressure pipe network. Whenever a water line needs to split into two directions, or a branch needs to be taken off a main line, the tee is the part that makes it possible. Choosing an equal tee in the correct pressure class keeps the whole system consistent: the pipe, the tee and the other fittings are all designed to work together.

  • Equal branch: all three sockets share the same nominal size, so one pipe size serves the whole joint.
  • Solvent-weld (S/J) ends: no threads, gaskets or clamps, just a clean chemical weld between pipe and fitting.
  • Class 5 range: matched to Class 5 PVC pressure pipe for consistent performance across the system.
  • Wide size range: from small 16 mm service lines up to 400 mm mains.
  • Light and easy to handle: PVC fittings are much lighter than metal alternatives, which speeds up installation on site.
  • Corrosion resistant: PVC does not rust, which suits water networks and many buried or outdoor installations.

How to Install a PVC Tee Equal Class 5

Good joints start with good preparation. Follow the solvent cement manufacturer’s instructions, and use the general steps below as a guide:

  1. Cut the pipe square and remove burrs from the inside and outside edges.
  2. Clean the pipe end and the inside of the socket so they are dry and free of dust or grease.
  3. Dry-fit the pipe into the tee to check the insertion depth, and mark it on the pipe.
  4. Apply primer to the socket and the pipe end, then apply solvent cement to both surfaces.
  5. Push the pipe fully into the socket with a slight quarter turn, and hold it for a few seconds.
  6. Wipe off excess cement and let the joint cure before applying pressure. Larger sizes and cooler weather need longer curing times.

Safety note: pressure-test PVC systems with water only. Never test or operate PVC pipe and fittings with compressed air or gas.

Selecting the Right Size and Class

Always match the tee to the outside diameter and pressure class of the pipe you are using. Mixing pressure classes in one line can reduce the safe working pressure of the whole system. Pressure ratings, dimensions and weights vary between manufacturers, so confirm the exact values in the manufacturer’s technical datasheet before final design. Frequently Asked Questions

What does “equal” mean in PVC Tee Equal Class 5?

It means the main run and the branch have the same nominal size, for example a 110 mm tee has three 110 mm sockets.

Can I use this tee with Class 3 pipe?

It is best to use fittings and pipe of the same class. Ask our team if you need to connect different classes.

Do you supply large project quantities?

Yes. Send us your BOQ or quantities and delivery location, and we will reply with availability and a project-based quotation.
